Hei Scott,

Thank you for your question!

There is nothing inherently special about the last train as opposed to the next train. They are simply slightly differentiating ways of saying it. “Når går neste tog”, “når går det neste toget”, “når går siste tog” and “når går det siste toget” are all equally correct.

Let us know if we can be of help to you again.

Jeg tar toget til jobb hver morgen, mandag til fredag.

Is there something special about the “last train” as opposed to the “next train”? In the word list, the next train is simply “neste tog”, whereas the last train is “det neste toget” (the double definite form). Would they be equally correct to say “når går det neste toget?” og “når går siste tog?”?

Takk!

Scott
