Maryssa: This is Must-Know Norwegian Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 7. In this lesson you'll learn words for your significant other.
Maryssa: Sometimes you use words so much that you want a little variation. These are some of the other ways that people say "my significant other."

Patrick: dama
Maryssa: literally meaning "the lady." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "my girlfriend."

Maryssa: literally meaning "the hag." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "my girlfriend or wife."

Maryssa: Use this slang expression when you want to talk about your girlfriend or wife in a very informal way.
Be careful when you use this word, as kjerring isn't necessarily a nice thing to call a lady unless the lady in question is okay with it.
